Youth & Family

PURPOSE:

The Youth and Family Division is dedicated to helping our youth grow up in healthy family environments and educating Macon County residents on youth and family issues.

PROJECTS:

• 2009, 2010 members volunteered assembling safe sleep packets that are distributed by Macon County Health Department to parents of newborns in the hospitals in Macon County.
• 2009 members donated items to new Life Pregnancy Center’s Boutique.
• 2008 collected hygiene items for Project Success’s Back Pack Program and volunteers helped pack the back packs.
• 2007 collected can food for Northeast Community Fund.

Youth & Family Grants 2011-2012

The division awarded Girl Scouts of Central Illinois $500 for its outreach services program, G.I.R.L. (Growing Into Responsible Leaders).  30 participants from the program experienced their first ever Girl Scout camp-out thanks to this funding.
