Volunteer

PURPOSE:

Our purpose is to increase public awareness of the need for volunteers for most organizations and social service agencies in Macon County. We achieve this by networking to increase knowledge of volunteer opportunities, providing training for volunteer coordinators and publicly recognizing volunteers.

Volunteer Grants and Projects 2010-2011

Volunteer Coordinators Professional Development: continued education to share and learn techniques for recruiting, training and retaining volunteers. Funds were provided for six members to attend the East Central Illinois Volunteer Conference and to fund an Open House

MEETINGS:

The Volunteer Division meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 11:30am – 1pm. Member agencies rotate hosting the meeting. Each meeting includes a speaker or a topic-specific roundtable discussion. Meetings also include agency updates, networking, and community calendar. We welcome new members and guest.
