Senior


		PURPOSE: To increase public awareness of the supportive needs of senior citizens, to share information about senior services and legislative initiatives, to extend help to other agencies that provide help with seniors, and to hear speakers on issues effecting seniors. Senior Grants and Projects During the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 fiscal years, this division made a donation to Decatur Macon County Animal Foundation. The money was then matched and exceeded by the Foundation. Eligible seniors were able to adopt a pet from the Foundation. The pet was spayed/neutered, chipped, had initial shots and a bag of food. This was at no charge to the senior. During the 2010/2011 fiscal year a grant was provided to the Fire Department to purchase eight emergency key boxes.
