PURPOSE:

To be a catalyst for changes and projects in the
community that would benefit persons with disabilities by providing a
networking opportunity for representatives of agencies that serve persons
with disabilities and by organizing focused events.
PROJECTS 2006/2007:
 | Hear reports from Transition Committee, Autism
and Aupsberger Committee, Starting Point (Aging and Disability Resource
Center), Senior Mental Health Alliance, and agencies
|
 | Offered the Revolving Emergency Fund: (quick loans) (DHS-ORS
@ SAIL) (Since 1997).
|
 | Donated $500 to United Cerebral Palsy Land of
Lincoln (UCP) for vocational assessment materials to be used with high
school students in the Macon-Piatt Special Ed. District. |

Disability Grants and Projects 2005-2006
Awarded a grant to Easter Seals to
provide funds for
its Equipment Loan Program and the Young Adult's Night Out pilot
program.
Awarded a grant to the Autism Support Group to
provide activities and social interaction for teens and young adults
affected by Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and other neurological
disorders.
