Disabilities

PURPOSE:

To be a catalyst for changes and projects in the community that would benefit persons with disabilities by providing a networking opportunity for representatives of agencies that serve persons with disabilities and by organizing focused events.

MEETINGS: Held bi-monthly at noon at various agencies on the third Monday starting in September. Here is a list of the Meeting Dates

September 17th 2012 & November 19th 2012. January 21st 2013, March 18th 2013 & May 21st 2013.

Choose the best use of an HSAC annual grant.

In 2007-8 two $250 projects were approved for SAIL & Easter Seals;

in 2008-9 a $500 grant was approved for Easter Seals;

In 2009-10 a $400 grant was approved for Easter Seals

In 2010-11 a $300 grant was approved for an Easter Seals/D.I.G.G. gardening project.

In 2011-12 a $500 grant was awarded to the Macon-Piatt Transition Planning Committee for partial funding of a very successful all-day transition seminar for 200 students and 25 teachers/advisors
