Gray
President
:Gary
graduated from the Univ. of Illinois in 1952, served two
years in the Air Force, during which time he married his
college sweetheart, Anne.. He retired in 1992 after a
business career with several Decatur firms. Many of his
volunteer hours are for his church. He served two terms on
the Park Board. He and his wife have five married children
and twelve grandchildren. Gary joined Golden K in 1997.

Gary Goeken
President-elect
Born, 1940 in Dillon, Illinois, Gary
grew up on a farm in Hopedale, Ill. Received a BS and
MS in Electrical Technology from Bradley University.
Worked 8 years for General Telephone in Bloomington and
Clinton, Ill. Gary started with Caterpillar in Peoria,
Ill in 1969. Transferred to Decatur, Ill in 1974.
Appointed to Sanitary District of Decatur board of Trustees
in 1980. Retired from Caterpillar in 2002, joined
Golden K in 2004.

 Neil
Baird
Vice-President
Neil was born in 1943 and grew up in
Decatur. He received his BA from Millikin University. After
completing a PhD at Minnesota, he returned to Decatur to
teach at Millikin. He retired from Millikin in 2005 after
teaching biology there for 35 years. In 1965, Neil married a
Millikin biology classmate, Karen Lepp. They are the parents
of two adult children. Neil has been a member of Golden K
since September 05. His major volunteer activities have been
Scovill Zoo and the Macon County Historical Society. Another
big retirement interest is biking.

Secretary
HOWARD LAWRENCE
Howard is retired
from Illinois Credit Union League. He has been a member of
Golden K since September 1993. Howard has 2000+ hours
averaging 19+ per month.
Howard is relentless when it comes to collecting dues. No
one wants one of his "Dues R Due" letters. Howard's superb
record keeping has earned him several patches from Kiwanis
International.

Treasurer
ANDY YOUNG
Andy, a
native of the Buckeye state, was born on Christmas Day
in 1935 in Akron, Ohio. Attended Akron University and
worked as a YMCA leader where he met his wife Esther.
Went to work for Firestone Tire and Rubber in the Data
Processing Department, was transferred to Decatur in
1966 and retired in 1988.
Andy has been a member of the Golden K since September
1999.

Past President
Rene Corcoran
Ren#& 23 retired from the
American Red Cross traveling the world from North Carolina
to Korea to Arkansas, Missouri and finally here in Decatur.
He has been a member of Golden K since 2002 and carries over
600 volunteer hours. Rene' was born in the "Big Easy", 1936,
married 1966 to Helen Maschhoff and has two married
daughters. He has a great sense of humor which supplies a
creative mind. |
